When I opened this project there were no designs in there that I haven’t already shared, so I picked some designs and made some simple changes to ten of them, so not only did I get designs for today, I have five more to share another day.

I even like the last design though the thought of trying to put this one together makes my head spin.

Today’s collection of designs makes me wonder why a few Log Cabin quilt designs are copied over and over again. All it takes to find something different to change the design, and that is before you start playing with various Log Cabin style blocks.

It is always interesting to see the designs in a group photo when there are minor changes between them. Now I can see them all at once I have changed my mind … if I had to choose one to make I would choose the one on the left in the bottom row, not the last one. Or maybe the first one!

More Log Cabin designs mid week, next week!

In this project file I used one block, and two variations of colour placement in that block. In each design I have used just one of the colour variations, which means that the quilt designs are positive and negative versions of the same layout. Log Cabin quilts can vary quite a lot when the colours are reversed, but with the Curved Log Cabin blocks, also known as Thick and Thin Log Cabin, the variation creates some stark changes in the results.

From now on I must remember to share these designs in equal numbers … but today you see an odd ...

I am not trying to confuse those of you who look for a five minute retreat from the real world in the middle of the week. However, I was dazed and confused after last weekend’s invasion by family and friends, and though it was planned as a one day event, a few people stayed longer, or came back for a second helping, some just arrived very late!

As a result of the chaos it was Thursday before I realized the weekend was over, so decided that this month the mid week retreat would happen on the weekends … and so ...
